Taku Machirori

Taku is an Analytics Strategist and the Co-founder and Executive Director of emerginationafrica.org, a social enterprise with a vision to see an 'Africa where all young people are equipped to create economic opportunities for themselves and others'.

While studying at Morehouse College, he realised that the theoretical methods of teaching business in Zimbabwean government high schools failed to equip learners with entrepreneurial skills to create sustainable economic opportunities in a volatile economy.

Consequently, he co-founded Emergination Africa (EA) an organisation that provides in-school training to high school business teachers that identify and nurture high potential student entrepreneurs to create product prototypes and ventures for the chance to receive seed capital through EAs practical in-class experiences and national competition. Through its network of teacher coaches across 125 high schools, EA reaches over 15000 learners annually.

Taku is working to expand the organisation's model to reach more government schools and countries with the goal of becoming the largest early talent identifier and feeder of young African business leaders.
